VITAMIN D GETS A VITAMIN A+
We all love the sun, don’t we lovelies? It’s always nice to get out there and take some time for to relax. But now that the clocks have gone back, I know some of you may be prioritising some Vitamin ‘Me’ rather the classic Vitamin D. But while we all may enjoy the extra hour in bed that comes with bringing the clocks back, (which I can’t blame you for, that extra hour is lush), I feel like we sometimes forget that the extra hour means an extra hour less in the sunshine, meaning we spend less time out in the day, and more time in the dark.
Being out in the light for less time than normal isn’t always the best, with one of the main issues, and the topic of our quick blog today, being the lower levels of Vitamin D we’re given.
When sunlight levels get too low, our body struggles to create as much serotonin or vitamin D, which if left uncontrolled, can leave us feeling tired and lethargic, and in some instances can enhance levels of depression. And low vitamin D levels can cause these feelings to be even more prominent, meaning we struggle to focus or get as much work done, even if it’s something you enjoy doing. Vitamin D deficiency can also make us more prone to colds, infections and the flu.
Vitamin D levels are also directly correlated with the protection of your skin. Vitamin D helps with the synthesis, metabolism and levels of skin activity by regulating various processes in your skin, such as maintain the barrier to your skin and improving your immunity.
Vitamin D is also known to help reduce the amount of inflammation of our skin, which is one of the main causes of skin conditions such as acne, eczema and many more. And people who deal with Vitamin D deficiencies
And with COVID still being a thing, while not at the level that it once was, it’s still present, and especially with the winter flu, a strong immunity is something that’s extremely important right now. Strong levels of vitamin D are needed for us to maintain every organ of our body, and especially our skin.
And when it comes to DEWCY, we make sure that we provide you guys with the necessary products and ingredients that give you the vitamin D levels you need to live your best life. Our Camellia Oil, found in our #NOFILTER Miracle Oil, and our Shea Butter, one of the core ingredients in our K6-PhytoCermaide Complex, (one of the main core ingredients that goes into all of our beauty balms), both of these ingredients include not just high levels of vitamin D, but also levels of Vitamin A, C, and E (You can’t say we don’t provide!)
It's not just these ingredients we use that gives you your daily dose - from orange juice to salmon, mushrooms to egg yolks, there are so many foods that can give you all what you’re looking for and get you up and going in the morning. And if you find it difficult to take some of these foods, be it allergies, diet or personal preferences, there are many vegan or vegetarian alternative for you to munch on (Yummy!)
So guys, make sure you stay out in the sun (wearing spf, of course!!!) while it’s still out for now, keep that skin refreshed and I’ll see you all next week
Peace out
Alex xoxo
