HELL NO H₂O
It’s a new week lovelies, and you know what that means? More DEWCY gossip for you all to enjoy.
Now, I don’t think I need to be the one to say this, but we all love water, as a matter of fact, we all need it, it does make up 70% of our body after all!!! And even though we need so much, why do skincare companies feel that they need to do the same for their beauty products by filling them up with water to a ridiculous degree?
Whilst I’m no chemist, it makes me question, does all of this come down to money?
Having said that, my opinion is not law, but let’s just state the facts, nearly all moisturises use anywhere from 65%-90 water in their formulations (I mean seriously, what does that mean we’re paying for?!) Using less water in skincare products is not only better for yourself, but for the planet we’re all living on.
Here’s some scary facts for you; only 3% of all water on Earth is freshwater and only 1% of all water found on the planet is easily accessible for human use. * That’s a shockingly small amount of water, and diluting skincare products with all that water is extremely harmful to the planet, so taking it out means Mother Nature can keep herself hydrated a bit longer.
When you take the water out of the product, obviously the main thing as previously talked about, there is no water dilution, and no water means that your products are more concentrated, lasts longer, lets you use less product per application, and since you’re using less every time, you’re going to get more bang for your buck. You can also rest easy knowing that all of the active ingredients found in waterless products have been properly infused into your skin, providing more powerful skincare results. On top of that, using no water means that no preservative requirements are needed (when you add water, bacteria can have an easier time forming and spreading so preservatives are required, these sometimes cause issues for those of us with sensitive skin.) So using waterless skincare means we can be preservative free and be approved for sensitive skin. That’s a lot of benefits, don’t you think? And if any of these benefits interest you, why don’t you hop on over to our shop where every single one of our products are waterless.
Have a wonderful week, lovelies, and I’ll see you soon.
Alex xoxo
