CAMU ON AND LAPACHO YOUR BAGS
And here we are, back at it again, great to see you once again.
Now there has been many myths and legends that have pestered at the minds of people for centuries, the lost city of gold El Dorado, the fabled King Arthur, the fountain of youth, or the terrifying Bloody Mary, I mean, who exactly would be afraid of Bloody Mary, like….I should probably stop there.
But all joking aside, these are all stories, tales of fiction – how could there ever be such a mystical item that could do something as ridiculous like slowed aging or increasing the defence of the body….can you keep a secret? Because there are such things!!!
These two blessings from a higher plane of reality in question are the extract of the Camu Camu Fruit and the extract of the bark of the Lapacho Tree, referred to as the ‘tree of life’.
Let’s start with the Lapacho Tree, shall we? As we just said, one core ingredient we use in our products is the extract of the Lapacho Tree. Used by the indigenous people of various Spanish and Portuguese American countries, the main reason this bark is used is because of its properties to slow down the skin ageing process and increase the longevity of the skin. This is accomplished by delaying the shortening of telomeres, which is a DNA structure that helps to protect our skin cell chromosomes from shortening, a process called cellular senescence (which is pretty much growing old by stopping the dividing of cells and not dying). By delaying the shortening of telomeres, you’re preventing your skin from showing the signs of ageing skin.
And for the other treasure unearthed, we have the extract of the Camu Camu fruit, so “Camu” on as we look into what makes it so powerful. This little fruit found deep in the heart of the rain-forest is an extremely powerful antioxidant, in just one teaspoon of Camu Camu contains nearly 682mg of Vitamin C, and between 877-3133 mg per 100 grams of fruit pulp (that’s 30 times Vitamin C than an Orange – the vitamin C fruit!)
Because the Camu Camu fruit has such a high level of Vitamin C, as well as high levels of niacin (a vitamin belonging to the vitamin B family), it’s actually an amazing booster of melanin-producing cells, so when the sun comes back around again, any kind of sun damage will fade much faster over time. And on top of that, the Camu Camu fruit’s high levels of flavonoids means it’s an astounding antioxidant against hyperpigmentation production and photoaging.
Sounds quite powerful don’t they? If these mystical possessions intrigue you in the slightest, we only ask that Dew believe in the magic of DEWCY like we do and recite the wise words of old – Twinkle Twinkle Little Jar (how I wonder what you are).
I hope that you lovelies didn’t get too sick of my jokes today, because I sure didn’t, but I hope that you at least got a little chuckle today after reading all this.
Have yourselves a magical time guys, and I’ll see you all soon.
Alex xoxo
